Milo, a 10-year-old boy with a passion for sports faced a significant challenge in pursuing his athletic dreams. He was born without a foot and the clay prosthetic foot he was fitted with was not well suited for sports. Milo‘s unbridled passion for baseball pushed the limits of his clay foot’s functionality, and he often endured pain while participating in the sport he loved. Yet, he refused to let his discomfort be known, driven by a desire to seamlessly blend in with his peers. Milo once attributed his tears during a game to a pulled hamstring, masking the true source of his pain, his prosthetic foot. However, Milo‘s unwavering dedication and skill on the field shown through, earning him the esteemed title of Most Valuable Player!
Despite his family‘s best efforts, the financial burden of obtaining a specialized prosthetic designed for athletic activities proved insurmountable. Recognizing the immense potential in this young athlete and the financial burden his family faced, the Christian J. Santo Legacy foundation stepped in to provide the cost of a state of the art prosthetic tailored specifically for Milo‘s baseball ambitions. With the new prosthetic, he would be able to withstand the rigors of the sport, while providing optimal comfort and functionality. When Milo tested out his prosthetic foot for the first time, he was thrilled that he was able to stand on his toes for the first time in his life! The foundation also pledged to provide additional prosthetics as Milo matured and outgrew his current one.
Now Milo can compete on a level playing field and showcase his true potential!
